Children need healthy meals to learn. Mason City School District offers healthy meals every school day at lunch and breakfast. Breakfast is offered at Mason High School, Mason Middle School, and Mason Intermediate and costs $1.80.Breakfast is also offered at Western Row and Mason Early Childhood and costs $1.70. Breakfast items are available ala carte at Mason Intermediate, Mason Middle, and Mason High School. Students may also qualify for free breakfast and lunch meals or reduced price breakfast and lunch meals. Applications for Free and Reduced Price Meals are available on-line.
Under United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) breakfast meal guidelines, students are offered 1 cup of fruit/fruit juice at breakfast and must take ½ cup of fruit/fruit juice to make breakfast a meal.

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, (AD-3027) found online at: http://www.ascr.usda.gov/complaint_filing_cust.html, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
